Audi RS 6 GT Avant Headed for South OC Cars & Coffee This Weekend

We’re just getting initial photos of last weekend’s Wagonfest at The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, shots depicting wagon enthusiasts hanging out with both the Audi RS 6 GT Avant and also the 1989 Audi 90 IMSA GTO. In case you missed it, we have it on good word from our contacts at Audi that the RS 6 Avant GT will make a second appearance at South Orange County Cars and Coffee this coming weekend.

South OC Cars and Coffee is a weekly cars and coffee style gathering held every Saturday from 9AM to 11 AM in the Outlets at San Clemente, in Orange County California. Staff at Audi of America have taken a liking to South OC, having popped in last December for a visit with Ken Block’s S1 Hoonitron. And, with the RS 6 GT Avant in town for some other corporate needs, dropping back in again with the RS 6 appears to have been a must-do.

Will the 90 IMSA GTO be there? We’re not 100% sure at this time, but we’d guess yes. This iconic IMSA GTO racer that inspired the GT has been in country on loan from Audi Tradition for the specific reason of emphasizing that inspiration. Check out the photos from Wagonfest and you’ll see the obvious similarities. So, if the RS 6 GT Avant is headed there, it seems logical the 90 IMSA GTO will follow suit… at least that’ sour assumption.
