Hoonigan Club Day – VW/Audi Treffpunkt Compton

By: Denis Podmarkov

You’re likely living under a rock if you hadn’t noticed that Audi and Hoonigan have formed a great friendship over these past couple of months. It’s also no secret that Brian Scotto, one of the founders of the car-themed brand, is a huge Audi aficionado who will school you on random and interesting Audi facts regularly on the Hoonigan channel. Don’t believe us, check out Hoonigan’s video on YouTube where Brian and Ken Block take a trip to Germany to visit the home base for Audi. Or maybe check out our coverage of the SEMA Show (p.62), where their Sport quattro replica and the Coupe quattro take front stage with Toyo Tires.

If you hadn’t had a chance to go to SEMA or see the two monster machines firsthand, Hoonigan offered another opportunity with their Volkswagen/Audi Club Day event held at their new headquarters in Compton, CA.

Shortly after SEMA, Hoonigan held their first-ever VW and Audi event. It was an open invite to all Audi and Volkswagen enthusiasts and owners. Audi Club Arizona even made it out to support the event and to spread the wonderful benefits of being an Audi Club Member.

The so-called Treffpunkt brought honorary builds including some that we have already featured in quattro Magazine. Brian Scotto was making his rounds spreading the word on his Audi adventures, including his recent purchase in Europe and his new RS2 Avant on Rotiform wheels. The rest of the Hoonigan team gave us a tour and mentioned what plans they have for this new Hoonigan HQ. For a quick two-hour event, it was a great way to start your weekend.

Scotto mentioned that he intended this be an annual event and that Hoonigan is working with other car clubs to bring even more events to their location. Stay tuned for that. With Ken Block and Hoonigan now paired with Audi, there will no doubt be more opportunities for Audi enthusiasts in this space.
