In Part 1 of this story, Audi Tradition visited Audi Greenville in South Carolina, demonstrating the 1989 Audi IMSA GTO and 1985 Audi Sport quattro S1 Pike’s Peak for customers and enthusiasts at that dealership. As it made its way to The Amelia Concours weekend in Amelia Island, Florida, it headed just a bit further south to Audi Jacksonville. Jacksonville’s proximity to the concours event made it a perfect stop too for those attending The Amelia weekend and seeking just a bit more exposure to these cars.

The night of the event was raining, but that neither stopped the guests from coming out nor the cars from being demonstrated amidst the rain. Following food and the historical presentation, Jacksonville’s Stephan Grönberg ushered guests outside to watch the display. Off-and-on showers didn’t douse the spectacle of the S1 and the 90 GTO lapping the dealership as their exhaust note pierced the rain and thrilled the assembled guests.

Following a reception and presentation inside the Audi Jacksonville showroom, guests braved the Florida rain to watch and listen to these legendary Audi race cars lap the northern Florida Audi retail store. The loud 5-cylinder racing engines blared off of the nearby buildings, and both quattro-equipped cars performed flawlessly with plenty of traction even in the wet.
