FixxFest 17

Audi Club Florida attended FixxFest 17, a Euro-centric enthusiast show and fundraiser for the Humane Society put on by UroTuning. It’s a broad spectrum of a show that offers fun for all with 30 vendors. The weather was great, food trucks were savory, vendors offered some fantastic gear, a generously supplied raffle, but spending time with the people attending was the best of all.

At a new location for the first time, the Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park (The FIRM), the show still drew quite a crowd with representation from all regions of Audi Club Florida. Many impressive cars were on display.

With so many participating vendors, the show’s raffle has become a real draw of excitement for those who come out. Looking at the abundance of what was offered, it seemed like over $10,000 worth of car parts, tunes, wheels, oil change kits, in addition to gift cards that were handed out, and one lucky winner from Audi Club even went home with a new set of wheels from APR!

The Emerald Coast Region-ACFL made its first-ever appearance at FixxFest at the new host venue. Emerald Coast was well represented by some of the best travel companions one could ask for. Thanks to everyone that made the long 10-plus hour round trip to come out and show support for the event. Special thanks to Melisa Wilcox for leading the charge from Pensacola.

The group included six cars that originated in Pensacola. They overnighted in Gainesville then on to a predetermined meet with the Central Florida Audi Group led by Matt Mulligan. The Audi Sport Tampa club, led by Jorge Acosta, also met this group en route. Audi Club Florida’s Melisa Wilcox again led the way of this combined group with radios to facilitate organization. The caravan that started with 7 cars from on Friday became a force to be reckoned of over 40 cars…all which made the last 2.5-mile trek to The FIRM as a single unit. Talk about making an entrance.

All and all, a grand time was had by all both en route and at the event. The entire experience was next level, from seeing other attendees at the same hotel, to seeing the endless builds from owners and vendors combined. Meeting with these other clubs is a memory that attendees won’t soon forget either. The camaraderie is unmatched, and the purpose is clear.

A special shout out to Ali Welty and Kolin Upton for helping the group arrange parking of 40 plus cars that consisted of Emerald Coast Audi Club, Central Florida Audi Group, and Audi Sport of Tampa who all cruised in together. Thanks again from those of us at Audi Club Florida to the FixxFest organizers for putting on such a great event for us to attend.
